Rain EP by Torin Bell is now available for free download

Rain EP by the alternative hip hop/electronica producer Torin Bell is now available for free download on Electrolyt!

[elyt10] Torin Bell - Rain EP

The EP is a collection of three short instrumentals filled with peace, tranquility and joy. Beats, playful melodies and energetic chord progressions. Sometimes distant, always cool and unbelievably beautiful. Amazing tunes that stay with you long after listening.

“The project is centered around water and each track uses the rain within it’s backdrop to provide a soothing white noise alongside various synth waves to create the coming and going of the rain in the spring. I wanted to create a atmosphere of peace and the rain usually helps in doing so.” (Torin Bell)

[elyt10] Torin Bell – Rain EP is available in various download formats and includes hi-quality double sided cover art designed by Susana Licéaga.

Kid Schurke & Brain Hall – Haen Zikum Ulus [elyt09]

Electrolyt proudly presents

Kid Schurke & Brain HallHaen Zikum Ulus

At the Brainhall synapses twitch to the beat with joy, when Roman Schürch and Andreas Glauser launch their machines. Frequencies are modulated, punctured, tweaked and pitched. In doing so, the tones and textures of the five tracks are kept well in flux by the fixed rhythm scaffolds and repetitive sequences. Due to the analogue origin of Kid Schurke and Brain Hall’s machine music, the overall sound is organic and warm. This is glitch and hop, industrial noise, ambient and improv jam. Sometimes there are subtle references to the electronic music pioneers of the 70s and sometimes memories of ecstatic synth-thunderstorms on dance floors in the early 90s appear as split-second flashbacks. The long tracks leave space for the music to develop and evolve. Quiet parts turn into tight electro funk monsters and beats disappear in an ocean of frequency modulations. It’s so exciting and inspiring. For the love of electronic music: Haen Zikum Ulus

Elyt09 is produced, mixed and mastered by

Kid Schurke & Brain Hall to release on Electrolyt, Share video

Kid Schurke and Brain Hall live

Electrolyt is very happy to introduce Kid Schurke & Brain Hall.

The Swiss duo consists of Andreas Glauser, an experimental artist and musician, who is running the Zürich based art production label brainhall, and music producer and synthesizer wizzard Roman Schürch who aside from his own music has produced numerous remixes for various projects such as Saalschutz, Egotronic, Sedlmeir, Karpartenhund, Tim & Puma Mimi and many others.
The two musicians exclusively use analogue gear such as the Korg Monotribe and manipulated mixing boards to create their amazing and unique electronic sound textures and beat patterns.
On February 24th Kid Schurke & Brain Hall will release their newest ep “Haen Zikum Ulus” on Electrolyt. Ahead of the release the duo shares a visually stunning real-time video synthesis created by Roberto Vitalini of bashiba.com. The short clip features an excerpt of Kid Schurke & Brain Hall’s track “Als ich alles wusste”, which will also be included on their upcoming EP. Enjoy!

The opener Picknick starts off with a distorted guitar, driven by a static powerful beat. Cymbals, chimes and percussion build a perfect carpet for Aurica’s voice.

No matter. A monotonous bassline, a minimalistic 4/4 beat and a lonely guitar theme are topped with haunting vocals. Addictive.

Driver. A man in trouble with both the mob and the police. A real sticky situation.
A 6 year old boy is telling us a story, while machine beats, industrial grooves and shimmering layers are pulsating underneath.

She and He. Droning pads and hypnotizing vocals pull us deeper into Karbidangeln Mit Aurica’s bitter sweet universe.

Raindrops. A pluckering beat, mellow pads and a playful melody. Raindrops fall on my head. Beautiful and meditative.

For Nothing. Gloomy and cloudy synth layers, a sublime beat and rhythmical synth lines. A pensive tune with a sad note. Not all glitter is golden.

Sunny Day. Synth layers slowly build up until a marching beat kicks in like a small explosion. Voices and a grooving bass line emerge, and take us along.
